Peak 2010 will be a camp where Scouts and Guides can experience a wide range of activities in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District. There will be activities from arts and crafts to adventurous activities and will include environmental and conservation projects. Peak 2010 will definitely offer something for everyone!

The opening Ceremony will be on Saturday afternoon, where it promises to be a fun packed opening to a great camp. Activities will start on Sunday Afternoon, and run through to Friday lunch time and the closing Ceremony later on Friday evening.

The activity times are:

Morning 0930 – 1200,
Afternoon 1400 – 1630,
Evening 1830 – 2130.

The evening session is split into 2 sessions with the first session finishing at 2000 hrs.

Competitions

The Competitions will commence on Sunday morning with a session for each sub-camp. On the Friday morning the subcamp champions will battle it out in the Competitions finals to find the Peak 2010 Champions.

Ultimate is an exciting, non-contact team sport, played by thousands the world over. It mixes the best features of sports such as Football, Basketball, American Football and Netball into an elegantly simple yet fascinating and demanding game. To compete at the top level, Ultimate players require an unmatched degree of speed, stamina and agility using a flying disc (a "Frisbee" to the man in the street) to be victorious over there opponents. The simplicity of the rules means it's easy and fun for newcomers to pick up.

Additionally the top secret 'Operation Leopard' Competition will take place at Peak 2010! Details of this mystery event will be revealed at the opening ceremony to the campers.

Evening Entertainment

The Entertainments team will be putting on the evening programme, commencing with the opening ceremony. Each evening there will be a different themed event including. There is also a dedicated team for evening activities running alongside the stage events.

Staff Recruitment

As of September 2009 we are still recruiting for activity staff, and require some specific roles to be filled.

They are as follows:-

  • Admin Assistant with IT skill to produce booklets and posters. This role is pre-camp and during camp.
  • Awareness Centre Team Leader
  • Drama Team Leader
  • Night Hikes Team Leader
  • Orienteering Team Leader
  • Trampolines Team Leader

We are also looking for someone who would like to take over the running of the adventure course next year, to join the team this year to shadow and find out about the role.
